1. To be more organised
2. To go to bed at a reasonable time
3. To make more effort to keep up with friends
4. To let annoying things not be so annoying
5. To stop taking the lift at work except when I’m carrying lots of stuff
Hmmm. One can but try!
Question: ‘Men and women are equal.’ What do you think? Give reasons to support your answer and show that you have considered different points of view. Refer to Christian teaching in your answer.
Answer – from a yr 11 (16yr old) girl:
‘I disagree with the above statement. I feel that men are the stronger sex and have more power over women. Men were created to rule and be in charge. This is significant to all roles of life. In lion prides the male lion is in charge and is seen as the leader. I am all for men working and earning money whilst women stay at home, cook, clean, look after children…
Quick, I must return to my kitchen at once?!
I really don’t. I don’t mean that I don’t like anyone, I know lots of nice people that I really like and enjoy spending time with, but I don’t like being surrounded by lots of people all at the same time.
I ‘had’ to go to a new vicar’s licensing last night. Unfortunately both the people who came with me were important people who had to go off and robe and process with the bishop, etc, etc. I found myself very close to running away and coming back at the end to pick them up. Fortunately I saw some people I knew so I could sit with them and then I felt a bit better.
After the service I found myself on my own again, despite it being packed. Again, I was hoping for a corner where I could safely hide. I have concluded that one of the following must be true
1. I am very boring and people do not want to talk to me
2. I have mastered the art of becoming invisible (I like this one the best)
3. Everyone else was with people and it just turned out that way
While I think number 3 is the most likely, it strikes me that there might be other people like me around who just hate being in large groups of people they don’t know very well and aren’t very good at just going up to people and starting a conversation, in which case there’s no point getting bothered about it because there must be lots of people stood on their own, but then I feel really stupid?
Why didn’t they have lessons on this at vicar’s wife school?
If you want a laugh have a look at this. I think it is the funniest thing I ever saw. I showed it to a couple of friends last night and every so often they will just burst out laughing at the thought of it. Apologies if you just don’t find it funny. (BTW it’s not the first bit about the bunnies, it’s the ‘serious piece of Russian drama). So, ‘Would you like a pie?’
Isn’t it a nice day today? All sunny and lovely and like summer. I almost forgot that I have to go back to work on Monday and I have a HUGE pile of marking. Have a nice day everyone!
BTW – I changed the myspace around a bit and people have stopped shouting at me – for the time being at least!
I know that you wibloggers are a discerning lot, so I wondered if you could help me with something? I recently decided to create a myspace page for my church. We have a parish website, but people in our congregation were complaining about communication and I thought that it would be a quick and simple way to keep people informed about what was going on, etc. However, my page seems to have had an effect as strong as the Windsor report. So please, if you have a minute, take a look at it. Tell me what you think. Do you find it offensive or appalling as members of my church have? Thank you in advance for your advice.
Someone emailed me a link to this story. Am I the only one who cannot quite believe it? Bearing in mind what they pay us I was of the understanding that schools do not own us and cannot control every aspect of our lives (tho’ they try).
It makes me very cross.
They closed our school 2day, yippeee! There was a big fire and they had 2 evacuate lots of people so our school became an emergency shelter. It mean that noone was hurt, but no school either. Instead I am in my favourite place, Starbucks at Borders, marking. This kind of teaching I can live with! What’s quite cool (to me anyway) is that I’m blogging from my phone, which I’ve never tried before and I do get very excited about new technology
Anyway bbefore I get carried away I thought I’d share one of those great things kids say. THE QUESTION ON THE yEAR 8 TEST PAPER READS, “mUSLIMS PERRFORM hAJJ AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME. wHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?” tHE ANSWER, “iT’S IMPORTANT BECAUSE mUSLIMSBELIEVE A METAPHOR LANNDED ON THEIR COUNTRY AND BEEN PUT IN THE kA’BAH.” i’M SURE SOMEONE CAN THINK OF A WITTY REPLY. aPOLOGIES 4 SPELLING MISTAKES/TYPOS, THE TECHNOLOGY ISNT BIG ENOUGH 2 LET ME SEE THE WHOLE SCREEN!
…Christmas to one and all! Hope it’s a peaceful one.
On our stairs we have a life sized cut out of Legolas so we decided to have the 12 hats of Legolas for the 12 days of Christmas. I’ll try and do a link if I can work out how to upload them somewhere.
Anyway, have a good one and a Happy New Year 0<):-)> ho Ho HO!!
